San Maria was founded by a China-based European buying office which originally began sourcing and buying for European clients. Since 2002, based in Foshan Guangdong - China's bathroomware and furniture hub, the small buying group has travelled extensively inspecting factories and showrooms in search of the best quality for its discerning buyers. In this time, the group has become intimately familiar with the bathroomware market. What we found were products that were "acceptable" in quality of finishing, but lacked the finishing touches that continue to separate European and Chinese-made products. The group set out to fill this gap by providing the best of Chinese-made workmanship with the best of European-designed and superior quality fittings.

The end result is a product that has the superior finishing expected by demanding European buyers with a price tag that betrays its Chinese origins.

San Maria distinguishes itself from other manufacturers using China as a manufacturing base. Our emphasis is firmly on quality for the most discerning importer. San Maria refuses to make a product that is "as good as" other items we see around us. We wish to be known for our attention to detail, while keeping the price of the finished article competitive with the lesser quality articles we see everywhere around us.

Materials are always the best available. Whether wood, acrylic, glass or metal, everything is manufactured and assembled to perfection. Where sufficient quality materials, fittings and finishings are not available locally, we use imported or OEM/ODM-manufactured products.
