San Maria distinguishes itself from other manufacturers using China as a manufacturing base. Our emphasis is firmly on quality for the most discerning importer. San Maria refuses to make a product that is "as good as" other items we see around us. We wish to be known for our attention to detail, while keeping the price of the finished article competitive with the lesser quality articles we see everywhere around us.

WOOD:
We typically use the following woods, depending on each customer's requirements:

• Damp-proof or plain fibre boards, plywood or solid wood for cabinet carcasses
• Plywood, solid wood or MDF for doors and facings
• Solid Rubberwood treated with a multi-step process to achieve perfect smoothness and waterproofness. The wood undergoes multiple preparations of sanding, coating and smoothing to achieve a flawless finish that is hardwearing. Wood samples prepared using our methods can be totally immersed in water for long periods of time and be almost completely unaffected.
• We also use melamine veneers for certain types of finishes, especially light coloured wood finishes or highly textured finishes.

FINISHING:
We typically use the following finishing, depending on each customer's requirements:

• High quality lacquer coatings applied and cured in sealed, dust-free painting booths
• Laminates of solid wood applied for maximum adhesion
• PVC heat-formed coatings
• Uncovered natural solid wood prepared meticulously for flawless finish and maximum waterproofness

Lacquered finish provides toughness on key wear points

Veneered surface is prone to damage on key wear points

FITTINGS:
We realise the huge importance of high-quality fittings, which are the "spirit" of the finished article. Poor quality or mismatched fittings can degrade a perfectly finished cabinet.

• Only top quality metals - aluminium, 304 stainless steel in a variety of styles and finishes.
• Where chroming is appropriate, we only use the immersion method and ensure that all appropriate preparation work is done to maximise chrome adhesion.
• We include aluminium pans on the floors of cabinets as an optional extra for ease of cleaning and minimisation of damage caused by water leakage.
• Hinges are CE certified for quality and safety.
• If we cannot locate an appropriate styled or quality fitting locally, we hand-make to exacting standards required by our customers.

High quality draw slides are fitted as standard. Standard option include steel-sided drawers and self/soft closing drawer slides.

Aluminium floor pans fitted as optional extra. You can request other types of luxury options.

High quality hinges are fitted as standard.

CERAMICS:
We are acutely aware of the need for finishing off our articles with quality ceramic basins. We reject suppliers showing excessive signs of the following:

• Marbling and bumps on the surface
• Sagging, bowing
• Out of level tops
• Brown spots
• Pin holes
• Uneven glazing

COUNTER TOPS:
We use only the best as standard, with a number of options:

• Phoneix Jade. This is a synthetic product which is a mix of quartz and polyurethane, providing 100% waterproofness (better than marble) but with the touch and feel of pure marble. It even retains coldness as with marble surfaces. This product also permits forming of one-piece basins/countertops. This product is durable enough to be used as external tiling on multi-story skyscrapers.
• Marble or Granite - poished, honed, flamed finishes
• We can also provide a range of completely synthetic surfaces similar to "Corian".
• Glass - Tempered glass in a full spectrum of colours
